What Makes Eyewear Sustainable?
Sustainable eyewear is designed to reduce environmental impact throughout its life, from materials to manufacturing and beyond.
At Retrospecced, sustainability means:
- Reusing & recycling, high-quality vintage and designer frames, that would otherwise go to waste. If there is life left in a frame let's reuse it.
- Supporting circular fashion, keeping beautiful eyewear in use for longer. We can also fit lenses to your own frames, so no need to buy again.
- Reducing plastic waste, many charities and optical practices don't collect old glasses donations anymore. By repurposing frames we reduce waste and make sure they don't end up in the bin.
Our Approach to Sustainability
Every pair of glasses or sunglasses we sell has a story. We collect donated designer glasses as well as sunglasses and vintage frames, professionally refurbish them in the UK, and then fit them with new prescription or non prescription lenses. This results in premium eyewear that's planet friendly but also good for the wallet. By choosing sustainable glasses and sunglasses you can get big designer frames for a fraction of the price.
We also send donations to The Zikomo Trust in Malawi, who work in partnership with the Kansangu branch of TheLions Club.
