Retrospecced exists to give these fabulous retro, vintage and designer frames a new lease of life.
Having worked with Vision Aid Overseas for many years, ( we still have stacks of frames that we purchased from them) they have now become Vision Action, working across Africa they deliver affordable eye care and glasses to people in hard to reach communities.
We have forged a new partnership with The Zikomo Trust who work in Malawi. Their aim is to raise awareness of the problems facing Malawi and to assistantships in the areas of education, poverty and healthcare. They do fabulous work to improve the lives of those most in need and have even built the Chilanga School for the Blind, which provides specialist education for the blind, partially sighted and recently sighted pupils. We will support The Zikomo Trust by sending regular spectacle donations.
We also are proud to partner with Lions Club International. They collected unwanted and damaged spectacles, which run through their recycling workshop and sorted by volunteers. Some frames get sent abroad for people to use, some get broken down and recycled to raise funds, and others get up-cycled by us to bring you sustainable, affordable eyewear.
Lions Club International Sight First programme's mission is to strengthen eye care systems in underserved communities, enabling them to fight blindness and vision loss, and assist those who are blind or visually impaired.
As an optician you can see why these charities sit close to me, from both a professional and personal interest in vision care and sustainability.

Whether you are an individual or an optical practice looking to send your glasses for the greater good, we are here to help you.
If you have old designer spectacles, or even antique / retro spectacles in your possession that you’re wondering what to do with and are too good to throw away, send them to us to be upcycled and also contribute directly to our partner charities, Zikomo Trust and Lions Club International.
Individuals sending frames will receive a £5 voucher towards your next purchase from Retrospecced for each frame in pristine condition. Any frames not suitable will be sent to Malawi with the Zikomo Trust for those in need, recycled or used for parts, so nothing goes to waste.
